- Basic is free, Plus is SAR 990 a year and Pro is SAR 2,990 a year when you pay yearly on the web. Prices are ex-VAT.
- Salla takes no commission. Most of your yearly bill is payment fees, which you'd pay on any platform.
- A store selling SAR 15,000 a month pays about SAR 7,410 a year all-in. At SAR 150,000 a month, it's about 3.5% of sales.
- Move to Pro when you register for VAT or need staff accounts and branches.
- Subscribe in a browser, never in the iPhone app, and pay yearly to save two months.
Salla costs nothing to start, because its free Basic plan lets you build a full store today.
Most real stores then pay SAR 990 a year for Plus, which unlocks card, Apple Pay and BNPL payments. Growing brands move to Pro at SAR 2,990 a year.
Salla also takes no cut of your sales, so your real bill is the plan, plus payment fees and a few apps.
Below, I price every plan, every extra and a full year at three sales levels. Then I compare the total with Zid and Shopify.
How much does Salla cost in 2026?
Salla has four plans: Basic is free, Plus and Pro have fixed prices, and Special is quoted per business.

What each Salla plan includes
Basic (free): test your idea
Basic gives you a complete store: theme, products, discount codes, reviews and discounted shipping labels.
The catch is that it can't take card, Apple Pay or BNPL payments online. Customers can only pay by cash on delivery (COD) or bank transfer, and support is by email.
Use Basic to build your store and line up your first products, then upgrade before you spend on ads.
Plus (SAR 99 a month): where most stores live
Salla pitches Plus at individual sellers and home businesses. In practice, it's the plan most small Saudi brands run on.
Plus adds:
- Online payments: mada, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and STC Pay through Salla Pay.
- BNPL: Tabby and Tamara, so shoppers can split a purchase into instalments.
- Your own domain: a .com or .sa address instead of a Salla link.
- More couriers: local and international carriers, plus Salla Point for in-person sales.
- Marketing tools: ad pixels, analytics and campaign features to bring in traffic.
Pro (SAR 299 a month): for companies and growing teams
Salla describes Pro as the best fit for companies. It adds the tools a business with staff and tax obligations needs:
- VAT settings for your tax number and tax on invoices.
- Staff accounts (10+) with their own permissions.
- Up to five branches sharing stock with your website.
- CSS and JavaScript edits for custom design work.
- A branded mobile app for your store, plus accounting and advanced stock reports.
Special (custom): for large retailers
Special covers several stores, many branches, ERP (business software) integrations and a dedicated success manager. You get a quote after a call with Salla.
Monthly, yearly or two years?
Pay yearly if you can, because it's the same as getting two months free.
| Plan | 12 × monthly | Yearly plan | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | SAR 1,188 | SAR 990 | SAR 198 |
| Pro | SAR 3,588 | SAR 2,990 | SAR 598 |
The two-year plan costs exactly two yearly plans. It saves nothing extra, but it locks in today's price.
If cash is tight, Salla lets you split a yearly or two-year plan into three monthly payments at no extra fee.
Never subscribe in the iPhone app
The same plans cost about 30% more in the iPhone app, because Apple takes a cut. Plus is SAR 129 a month there, and Pro is SAR 389.
The app doesn't sell yearly plans at all. Always subscribe at salla.sa in a browser.
Which Salla plan do you need?
Most new stores need Plus, and you only move to Pro when one of these happens:
- You register for VAT, which becomes mandatory once taxable sales pass SAR 375,000 a year (about SAR 31,000 a month).
- You hire staff, since Pro gives each person their own login and permissions.
- You open a shop or branch, as Pro shares stock across up to five locations.
- You need custom code, because CSS and JavaScript edits only unlock on Pro.
Not sure if you must register yet? Our Saudi VAT guide explains the thresholds, and the ZATCA e-invoicing guide covers the deadlines.
Costs beyond the subscription
The plan is the smallest part of your bill once you start selling.
Salla Pay and payment fees
Every online order carries a small fee from the payment provider.
| Payment method | Typical fee (ex-VAT) |
|---|---|
| mada (Saudi debit cards) | About 1.75% + SAR 1 |
| Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay on credit cards | About 2.2% + SAR 1 |
| Tabby and Tamara (BNPL) | 2–5% of the order |
| PayPal | 2.9% + SAR 1.49 |
| Cash on delivery | About SAR 10 per order, charged by the courier |
These are the rates Salla sellers report. Salla Pay rates come with your merchant contract, so check yours.
Add 15% VAT to every fee. A 1.75% mada fee really costs about 2%.
Mada is the line to negotiate. Zid publishes 1% + SAR 1 on mada, so ask Salla Pay to match it. On a busy store, that's worth thousands of riyals a year. Comparing gateways? See our guide to payment gateway fees.
Apps, themes and your domain
These are the extras most stores add:
- Apps: about SAR 30–300 a month each, for reviews, WhatsApp cart reminders, loyalty and more.
- Themes: plenty are free. Premium themes typically cost SAR 150–600 once.
- Domain: about SAR 50–100 a year for your own address.
- SMS and WhatsApp messages: billed by usage.
Shipping
Salla connects you to 200+ shipping partners on every plan, including Aramex, SMSA, J&T and Naqel. You buy labels at discounted merchant rates from the dashboard.
A domestic Saudi parcel typically costs SAR 10–22, depending on the courier and speed. Most stores pass this on through delivery fees or build it into prices, so it's left out of the totals below.

What does a Salla store really cost per year?
Let's price three Saudi stores, from first steps to a serious brand, all paying yearly on the web.
Each has an average order of SAR 200. Half its customers pay by mada, a quarter by credit card, 15% by BNPL and the rest by COD.
| Year one (ex-VAT, SAR) | Starter: SAR 15k a month | Growing: SAR 50k a month | Established: SAR 150k a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plan | Plus: 990 | Pro: 2,990 | Pro: 2,990 |
| mada fees (1.75% + SAR 1) | 2,025 | 6,750 | 20,250 |
| Credit card fees (2.2% + SAR 1) | 1,215 | 4,050 | 12,150 |
| BNPL fees (4%) | 1,080 | 3,600 | 10,800 |
| COD courier fees (SAR 10) | 900 | 3,000 | 9,000 |
| Apps | 2 apps: 1,200 | 4 apps: 3,600 | 6 apps: 7,200 |
| Premium theme (once) | Free theme: 0 | 600 | 600 |
| Total | 7,410 | 24,590 | 62,990 |
| Share of sales | 4.1% | 4.1% | 3.5% |
Look at how little goes to Salla itself. Its plan is 13% of the starter's bill and under 5% of the established store's.
Payment fees are the real bill, and they grow with your sales on every platform.
That's why the established store should push hard on mada. Matching Zid's mada rate would cut about SAR 6,750 a year. At that size, it's also worth asking Salla about Special.
Salla vs Zid vs Shopify: which costs less?
For a Saudi store, Salla and Zid cost about the same. Shopify costs more, mostly because of one fee.
Shopify Payments isn't available in Saudi Arabia. So Shopify adds its own fee on every card and BNPL order, on top of the gateway's fee: 1% on its Grow plan.
Here's the platform cost alone for the same three stores. Payment gateway fees are similar everywhere, so they're left out.
| Platform cost, year one (SAR) | Starter | Growing | Established |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salla | Plus: 990 | Pro: 2,990 | Pro: 2,990 |
| Zid | Rise: 990 | Growth: 2,990 | Growth: 2,990 |
| Shopify Grow | 4,050 | 9,030 | 19,830 |
Shopify Grow is SAR 2,430 a year plus its 1% fee. The growing and established stores also need a ZATCA e-invoicing app, from about SAR 1,200 a year.
Zid's one edge is that published mada rate. At 1% on its Growth plan, it saves the growing store about SAR 2,250 a year, unless Salla matches it. Our Salla vs Zid comparison runs those numbers line by line.
Shopify earns its price in other ways: more themes and apps, and better tools for selling across borders. See Shopify vs Salla for the full trade-off.
How to keep your Salla bill low
- 1
Start on Basic
Build your store, add products and take a few COD orders before you pay anything.
- 2
Upgrade to Plus in a browser
Subscribe at salla.sa, not in the iPhone app, and choose the yearly plan.
- 3
Negotiate your mada rate
Ask Salla Pay for a lower mada rate once you have steady sales, or compare an outside gateway.
- 4
Keep apps lean
Launch with two or three essentials and review the list every quarter.
- 5
Charge for COD
Add a small COD fee at checkout to cover the courier's charge.
- 6
Move to Pro on cue
Upgrade when you register for VAT, hire staff or open a branch, not before.
Notes for social and home sellers
- If you sell through Instagram or WhatsApp today, Plus is your plan. It gives you a real checkout with mada and Apple Pay.
- Saudi citizens can sell under a freelance document instead of a CR, and our freelance document guide shows how.
- Stay on Basic while you take orders by COD and bank transfer, then upgrade before you start paid ads.
Notes for VAT-registered businesses
- Salla's prices are ex-VAT, and the 15% VAT on your plan and fees is usually reclaimable.
- Voluntary registration counts too. Once you hold a VAT number, you need Pro's tax settings.
- Connect Salla to ZATCA's Fatoora system from the dashboard, and check your e-invoicing wave date.
Notes for large and multi-branch retailers
- Pro covers up to five branches. Beyond that, ask for a Special quote.
- At high volume, payment fees dwarf the plan. Negotiate mada and card rates before anything else.
- If shops drive most of your sales, compare Zid's POS too in our Zid review.
Notes for foreign brands
- Salla needs a Saudi CR or freelance document and a Saudi IBAN for payouts.
- Without a Saudi entity, most foreign brands start on Shopify or sell through Amazon.sa and noon first.
- Our Shopify vs Salla vs Zid comparison shows which platform fits your setup.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. New stores get a 14-day free trial of the paid plan features, so you can test online payments and the extra tools before you pay. Salla's terms allow one trial per business, so don't open extra accounts to repeat it. After the trial, you subscribe or stay on the free Basic plan.
